Key words: translation activity, intercultural communication, source text, ethnic environment.

The article is devoted to the problems of translation, which are considered as a kind of mediation in intercultural communication, which depends on the general fund of knowledge of communicants. The basis of this fund is the national language — social-cultural entity, which presents the features of the ethnic group as a carrier of a particular culture. The relevance of the proposed research is the need to study the phenomenon of translation in identifying cultural factors affecting the process of translation as mental interpretation activities. This is a kind of speech activity, aimed at the most complete transmission of non-native language text. The transmission of the national originality of the original text created by a certain ethnic environment is one of the most complex tasks of translation activity, which requires, in addition to the use of translation techniques (association, transliteration, preferences, etc.) creation and a new word / concept for the more precise transfer of the cultural code of the source text.

Key words: Scientific and technical vocabulary, discourse, professional linguistics, cognitive practices, professional communication.

The article is devoted to some aspects of the conceptual content of scientific and technical vocabulary in professional discourse. This fact leads to an intensification of the processes of scientific and technical information exchange, which actualizes the development of linguistic features of the scientific and technical branch in the process of information exchange and professional communication. In this context, modern cognitive-discursive and communicative practices have become the basis for studying the uniqueness of professional communication, its specifics, and peculiarities of connections with other spheres of human activity. This study actualized both scientific texts and scientific-technical discourse.

The basic concepts in the information and documentation discourse are the concepts “Information”, “Mystery”, “Security”, “Technology”, which are reflected in most of terminological units. They form the frame of lexical units, the nominal concepts of a particular field. Two factors play an important role in this process: the level of development of a professional language in the field of information activity and the level of language proficiency of a particular person. The research of cognitive-discursive aspect of terminological vocabulary in the information-documenting sphere can reveal the mechanism of transformation of “deep” meanings of concepts into a particular nominative unit, and opens up wide possibilities for the study of the totality of speech units, which are united by the collective sense and reflect the semantic similarity of the marked phenomena.
