SUMMARY
The issue of the relationship between the language of fiction and dialect speech is permanently relevant in linguistic studies. Among the 15 Ukrainian dialects, writers most often use Hutsul dialect units, mainly for the realization of nominative-cognitive and expressive function, individualization of characters, and truthfulness of sketches (in particular, those that describe the life of Hutsuls, landscape, flora, and fauna of the Carpathians, etc.), as it adds authenticity to ethnographic inserts and creates artistic time-space. The article analyzes the Hutsul dialect units characteristic for the speech of the residents of village Zamagora of the Verkhovyna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region and verbalized by Liuba-Paraskeviia Strynadiuk in her collection of prose works «Give a note “la”. Hutsul etudes». The author is a native of this region, which is essential from the point of view of the unerring and organic use of dialectics in the artistic text. In the course of the research, regional lexical elements used in the texts have been identified, selected, and involved in the analysis. The semantics of the attested dialecticisms is used as the basis for the classification of the dialect words accordingly. The study examines the groups of dialect vocabulary that are the most representative and, therefore, create an ethno-cultural background of the story. The research is conducted using traditional lexicological research methods: general sampling (used to form the corpus of Hutsulisms) and descriptive method, which is used for structuring and lexical-semantic analysis of the recorded nomens. The analyzed text represents the type of literary-dialectal diglossia, when Hutsul wordslocalisms are used both in the author’s language and the characters' speech, although there are few dialogues in the texts. This is natural considering the writer’s chosen strategy of conducting the «I»-narrative type of story, where the writer unwittingly becomes the heroine of the ministories (etudes) she tells about.
