PHRASEOLOGY IN THE CATEGORIES OF CULTURE

SUMMARY

The article is devoted to phraseology – one of the most mysterious, imaginative and, at the same time, most informative language system, which is able to reflect the categories of culture, that led to the purpose of this investigation: to demonstrate stereotypes, standards, precedent phenomena, symbols, archetypes, linguocultural codes, linguocultural code spaces in phraseological units as language facts, that were created and presented in culture. The objects of the study are phraseological units of some Slavic languages, national and regional ones. The subjects are the categories of culture, which they mirror. The theoretical and practical value consists in attracting attention of scientists to further linguocultural, ethnolinguistic, linguosemiotic, social linguistic researches based on phraseology of different languages, as well as in the possibility of using of the obtained results in studies of linguoculturology, ethnolinguistics, linguosemiotics, social linguistics, intercultural communication, phraseology, translation studies. Based on the given data, the author concludes: phraseological units as the language signs that have been created and established in culture, reflect ancient archetypical ideas, imprint deep cultural meanings, acting as cultural signs and functioning as symbols, stereotypes, standards etc.
