SUMMARY
In the era of global globalization, the lexicon of different languages is constantly being replenished. The Ukrainian language is also being influenced. Currently, it is enriched mainly by borrowings from the English dictionary, but units of German origin in literary and especially dialectal use occupy a significant place among lexemes of foreign origin. In view of this issue, the functioning of German borrowings in Ukrainian colloquial speech is relevant and timely. The proposed article is written in the direction set by the research of the authors who were interested in the problems of German-Ukrainian interlingual contacts in Transcarpathia. The presence of German borrowings in the Ukrainian dialects of Transcarpathia is primarily due to the settlement of the region by German colonists (the first wave of German colonization lasted in the 12th–13th centuries, and the second – during the 18th to the middle of the 19th century). In view of this, the purpose of the article is to search for and conduct a preliminary linguistic review of Germanisms borrowed into the dialect vocabulary of Transcarpathian dialects in the process of German-Ukrainian interlingual interaction in Transcarpathia. The objectives of the study are: 1) to investigate examples of lexical infiltration of everyday vocabulary from the German (Austrian) language into Ukrainian dialects of the specified areal; 2) to outline the main features of their phonetic adaptation in Ukrainian dialect speech of the specified areal. The object of the study is German- Ukrainian linguistic contacts, and the subject is their manifestations at the lexical level, represented by the sum of borrowings of different times in the areal of Transcarpathian dialects.
