SUMMARY
The article is devoted to the study of the role and influence of mythological names in the titles of English films on the audience's perception and understanding of the content. The importance and influence of mythological names on the cultural context are analysed. The ways in which mythological elements influence mass culture are studied. The current trends in the reinterpretation of mythological names in contemporary cinematic works are investigated. Mythological names are an important part of the cultures of different nations. They reflect the unique mythology, traditions and values of these peoples. Mythological names in English films are used to create an atmosphere, convey ideas and attract the audience's attention. In this context, several types of mythological names can be distinguished, such as the names of gods and goddesses, heroes and heroines, monsters and creatures, and places and objects. The analysis of the use of mythological names in film titles reveals their diversity and importance in creating special atmosphere and expressing ideas. Modern trends in the reinterpretation of mythological names are reproduced in unusual contexts, combined with modern elements and expand their meaning: firstly, they can contribute to the popularisation of mythology among modern audiences; secondly, these trends can contribute to the development of new forms of mythology, when mythological names are combined with modern elements, they can create new mythological mixes that reflect the values and problems of modern society; thirdly, these trends can lead to more diverse and inclusive images in popular culture. When mythological names are assigned to characters from different cultures, it can help to show that mythology is part of different cultures and that it can be used to create diverse and inclusive images. Mythological names turn out to be not only an in-depth layer of cultural heritage, but also a key tool for creating engaging narratives that can impress and leave a mark in the world of contemporary mass culture.
